Shawn Anderson to Walk Across Both England and Ireland in Newest Adventure.
Los Angeles, CA, May 9, 2017 — Motivational expert Shawn Anderson does more than just talk about empowering messages such as “go the extra mile” and “live the life you love.” He lives the messages. In his newest adventure, the six-time author and motivational speaker will be hiking border-to-border across both England and Ireland starting on June 7th, 2017. This will be the seventh time Anderson has crossed a country by either walking or pedaling a bike.
“How can I sincerely write about getting off the floor when life punches you in the gut if I don’t know what tough times really feel like?” Anderson asks. The author of the motivational book A Better Life: An Inspiring Story About Starting Over continues, “Life has a way of kicking our butts until we wear out and just quit. Walking 20 miles every day for a month in a strange country and not knowing where I’ll eat or stay each day has the potential to get tiring and overwhelming. But when the passion to succeed outweighs the pain of the process to succeed, we have a chance to cross whatever distant finish line we seek.”
Creating adventures to find the best version of himself is nothing new for Anderson. He has twice pedaled a bike ocean-to-ocean solo across the United States, hiked 550 miles across Spain in 27 days, run a 100-mile race, hiked 440 miles up the coast of Portugal, and has created other adventures in 40 countries. In 2015, Anderson pushed himself out of his comfort zone again and created a month-long speaking tour in the Philippines where he shared his inspirational message with over 10,000 Filipinos. In September 2017, he has a similar goal for Central America on another speaking tour.
In addition to being a successful lifetime entrepreneur and a #1 ranked author in the category of “motivation” in 2016 on Amazon, Anderson is also the Founder of Extra Mile America and the creator of “Extra Mile Day” – a day recognizing the capacity we each have to create positive change when we go the extra mile. On November 1, 2016, 560 mayors and cities made the unique declaration and recognized those in their local communities who were going the extra mile in volunteerism and service.
Anderson concludes, “Life can start to turn very mediocre if we don’t learn to push ourselves. When I finish walking across England and Ireland with bruised feet and tired legs…and I will finish…I will have a found a deeper secret for not only how to push myself, but I will also have uncovered greater insight to empower others to keep going and to push themselves through their own intense challenges.”
