Riga, Latvia: Joblist.design has launched a new website that provides an opportunity for digital designers who are looking for work to promote their skills, along with the opportunity for companies who wish to hire designers to advertise their vacancies. The website is unique because it is not restricted to any specific geographical area, and is being used by a growing list of designers and companies the world over.
Kristaps Elsins, founder and CEO of Joblist.design is of the opinion that a site like this is long overdue. “It will most certainly fill a need,” he says. “Digital design jobs are in big demand all over the world. But the problem is that most recruiting companies out there are way overpriced. Our prices are 10 to 100 times cheaper than many of these companies!”
The advancement of new technology has, in fact, fueled an ever-increasing need for digital designers. Skilled talent seems to be in short supply, with UI, UX and Mobile Designers being in particular demand. Competition among companies for this type of talent is fierce, not surprisingly when the unemployment rate for digital designers is around the 2% mark.
Joblist.design allows designers to add a link to their portfolio in order to showcase their skills and experience, for a small fee of $11.99 per year. Companies and studios can post detailed descriptions of current vacancies they have available, for $29.99 per 30 days.
Although the site was launched only 2 days ago at time of writing, it is rapidly gaining in popularity. There are currently more than 35 vacancies listed for a variety of in-house or remote digital design positions, and more than 20 designers are listed. Kristaps fully expects that within a short time there will be hundreds of listings from both designers and companies. “This is the go-to website for anyone interested in hiring or applying for a digital design position!”
