Internationally acclaimed band Paper Lights is embarking on a recording and video project that will take place while touring through a number of National Parks around the U.S. By writing and recording in an environment that they feel will be inspirational, empowering and liberating, the band hopes to encourage other artists and musicians to seek out new ideas for their own work.
In order to get the project started, the band decided to sell their personal vehicles and buy an old van to use as a home base and recording studio while they’re on the road. They’ve encountered more than their fair share of challenges along the way, from having to sell most of their music equipment, to the difficulty of finding sponsors, to the never-ending necessity of paying for repairs to the old van.
Having sold every personal item that they could possibly part with, the band is now desperately in need of help and is starting a KickStarter campaign.
“Because of the very costly and unexpected van repairs, as well as our desire to produce not only our next album but also a video series of the trip, we do not have the resources to finish this project on our own. It’s something we simply can’t do without your help! We’re asking you as our friends and biggest supporters, to help us raise $10,000 in order to help see this music and video project through to the end.”
Their creative journey will take them from the magnificent National Parks of Colorado and Utah to those of Arizona, California, Washington, Montana and Wyoming. The band hopes to visit a total of 13 of their favorite parks throughout the U.S.
Paper Lights is an alternative/pop duo from Atlanta, GA. Renowned for creating a “memorable and movie-like atmosphere”, they have toured nationally over the past couple of years and opened for Allen Stone, The Fray, and Miike Snow, among others.
The band hopes to have the new album completed in early 2018. Anyone donating to their cause can receive a copy of their album before its release, along with other fun rewards.
