#1 Ranked Author Walks Talk With Another 500+ Mile Hike Across 7th Country.
Los Angeles, CA, June 5, 2017 — Motivational expert Shawn Anderson doesn’t just speak and write empowering messages; he literally walks his talk. On June 7th, Anderson will take off on his latest motivational adventure. The six-time author and motivational speaker will tie his sneakers, hoist a backpack over his shoulders and walk border-to-border across both England and Ireland.
Creating experiences to keep himself sharp is nothing new for the 54-year-old motivational expert. This will be the 7th time Anderson has crossed a country by either 100% walking or pedaling a bike. He has twice pedaled 4,000 miles solo across the United States, hiked 550 miles across Spain in 27 days, hiked 440 miles up the coast of Portugal, and last summer walked 750 miles around Shikoku, Japan. Additionally, Anderson has run a 100-mile race, completed a 40-day around-the-world trip and has created adventures in over 40 countries.
“If I’m going to encourage others to step out of their comfort zones to create a better life, I sure in the heck better be jumping out of mine,” Anderson shares. “How can anybody ever be a sincere motivator of others if they don’t practice what they preach? Talking about ‘going the extra mile’ is easy; actually doing it, not-so easy. I want to be known for doing the not-so easy.”
In addition to being a successful lifetime entrepreneur and six-time author, Anderson is also the Founder of Extra Mile America and the creator of “Extra Mile Day” – a day recognizing the capacity we each have to create positive change when we go the extra mile. On November 1, 2016, 560 mayors and cities made the unique declaration and recognized those in their local communities who were going the extra mile in volunteerism and service.
The recent #1 ranked author on Amazon with his book, A Better Life: An Inspiring Story About Starting Over concludes, “The excellence and adventure of each of our lives will always be determined by our own vision and a willingness to take massive action on that vision. When I finish walking across England and Ireland with bruised feet and tired legs…and I will finish…I will have a much deeper sensitivity for how to empower others when they, too, feel like giving up and taking life’s easy road.”
